Monitaly Mountain Parka Khaki Army Duck
The work of Yuki Matsuda is perhaps best-known with his footwear brand Yuketen, however the Japanese designer has also quietly worked on Monitaly since the brand’s inception in 1997. The brand’s name is derived from his three loves, Monica (his daughter), the military and Italy and produces an aesthetic not unlike Yuketen with a distinct heritage feel and high-quality construction.
The mountain parka has become a staple piece in the autumn winter collection of Monitaly, owing to its easy to wear popularity. The jacket is based upon a classic outdoor parka style, but given elegant touches such as the western style shoulder patches. The duck cloth is very hardy and will keep out both the wind and rain. Warmth is provided by the herringbone wool lining (think harris tweed without the harris). Super well made and a wardrobe staple for years to come. Made in America
